SAP PS ARCHITECT

The SAP PS Architect will be part of a Global SAP Project and support the implemented project when it is complete. The candidate must have an understanding of global manufacturing processes and how PS supports the manufacturing process. It is vital that this person have deep experience in implementing SAP in a global manufacturing environment that have suppliers and customer from across the world.

The individual will offer their knowledge and expertise regarding the SAP system to the team to ensure best business practices are defined in meeting the business requirements. This position will be member of the IT organization and will assist the team with analysis, design, evaluation, configuration, testing, and implementation of the system across PS & FI functional areas. This individual will serve as an implementation member throughout the global implementation of the system.

The organization this position will be supporting is Manufacturing based and supports more than 7 very large plants globally, more than 7 engineering locations and several administrative locations. Prior experience in being a Solution Architect in this type of environment is a must.


Job Responsibilities
  • Travel 30% (North America and Europe) during the project but during Testing and Go Live it will be closer to 50%. When we move to a support mode it will go back down to 30% or less.
  • We expect you to be an expert in PS. You will leverage your experience with these modules in conjunction with other team members on the Manufacturing team.
  • Provide SAP knowledge and expertise within a cross-functional team providing direct support of SAP’s PS functional area for the following activities:
  • Business Design sessions ensuring global business needs are incorporated into sessions.
  • Process re-engineering exercises to conform to business best practices.
  • Documentation of business processes, workflows and procedure.
  • Assist with resolving business issues resulting from designs session.
  • Prepare software configuration recommendations/requirements for assigned business processes.
  • Ensure multi-country requirements are properly defined to support localization and statutory requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with Project Management to ensure configuration is designed to meet the requirements and scope of the project.
  • Gain understanding of environment infrastructure and opportunities to ensure designs and deliverables are within economical reach.
  • Participate is system integrated testing to ensure software requirements have been met.
  • Assist with data cleansing and validation efforts for data migrations.
  • Assist with preparation of user training materials.
  • Ensure that Company standards and methodologies are adhered to.
  • Provide end-user support during go-live.

Work Experience:
  • Deep SAP Module Experience – PS and integrating with the rest of SAP and other legacy systems and supplier systems.
  • 10+ years in technology roles with increasing leadership/architectural responsibility in developing, designing, supporting, governance, and strategic planning for scalable and highly available enterprise applications
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a highly complex, global manufacturing environment providing IT team leadership and/or architectural direction
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP functional design roles
  • Significant experience with SAP PS and supporting technologies (SAP & Non-SAP).
  • Some experience across SAP systems and components (e.g. Portal, ECC and BW)
  • Familiar with SAP NetWeaver application development
  • Industrial Manufacturing experience preferred (Meaning the building of large scale products like Gas Turbines that take months to build). Deep high volume manufacturing experience is also positive experience we are looking for.
  • A proven consulting/functional professional, with at least two full lifecycle SAP implementations.
  • Comfortable working in a self-directed environment.
  • Must possess strong leadership qualities.
  • MS Office applications: Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Excel, and Word.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to present one’s self well and comfortably in front of customers.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Work with teams of varying sizes.
  • Ability to travel outside of home base country.

Education & Certifications
• BS degree in Computer Science, Business or related field/equivalent experience
